“Wie kan schrijven en dit graag doet, kan ook vertalen”, zo werd gezegd tijdens een informatiebijeenkomst van de master vertalen. Gedurende deze opleiding, bleek dit zeker waar te zijn. Maar net als bij schrijven, is het ook bij vertalen de oefening die kunst baart. Die oefening heb ik zeker genoten tijdens deze studie vertaalwetenschap, waarbij ik koos voor het pad van literair vertalen. De keuze viel op deze specialisatie omdat het voor mij als taalvirtuoos een mooie combinatie was van mijn liefde voor verhalen en taal. Maar het bleef niet alleen bij oefenen.
For a couple of years, I worked as a project manager at a translation agency. During this time, I worked a lot with all kinds of clients and a great variety of texts that were translated from and into different languages. I also gained experience in working with CAT Tools. Because of this professional experience, I know the importance of deadlines for all parties involved. I am therefore transparent about the feasibility of any deadline and will stick to the promised deadline.
I enjoy learning. That is why, I still follow further training. This additional training benefits both my translations and my texts. Recently, I've successfully completed a course in subtitling. This course was a great combination of my passions for film and translation. I greatly enjoy subtitling, so you can also come to me for any subtitling project.
